Three days of business and technical seminars highlight the “Accelerate Your Knowledge” theme of the event, plus there are numerous show-floor learning opportunities. You must pre-register to attend the business and technical seminars. You cannot register for them at the show. The price to attend each event is included. If you complete the advance registration form online, you will also be able to register and pay for these events online. SEMINARS AND CLINICS Friday, May 3, 2002 AIA Annual General Meeting In addition to regular AGM business, the AGM will also feature a number of activities to celebrate our 60th Anniversary. Retiring Director and Ambassador Awards will be presented, as will the Division of the Year and Most Improved Division Awards. A new CAP recipient will receive his certificate. Jobber News will present its Jobber of the Year Award and Aftermarket Canada will unveil its Counterperson of the Year. Milestone AIA members will be celebrated in our 60th year. This seminar is intended to give a different perspective on profitability for the wholesaler by jobber John Brewer who has actually applied techniques such as: observation, inquiry, comparison and the “Is this reasonable?” benchmark along with the K.I.S principle and setting objectives to each of the revenue and expense items. While the advent of sophisticated on-board diagnostic OBD II systems has the potential to dramatically improve both in-use testing programs and vehicle maintenance; technological, infrastructure, consumer and competitive concerns must first be addressed or public confidence will be lost along with the opportunity to improve vehicle in-use emissions performance. Drawing from the huge and rapidly expanding performance aftermarket for import and compact cars the Protégé is modified with Eibach lowering springs, ADR alloy wheels, BFGoodrich performance tires, B&M shifter, custom exhaust and intake with K&N high-flow filter. This is only the first stage however. Future mods will include performance pulleys, cams, differential, brakes and ultimately a supercharger or turbocharger.
